Cristiano Ronaldo is not the only member of his family
signing a record deal in Madrid this summer.
His sister, Katia Aveiro, has teamed up with the
production company behind the musical success of Lady
Gaga and Jennifer Lopez to release her first album.
The singer, whose single "Boom sem parar" has been a
YouTube sensation, is working on a collection of songs
with producers RedOne from her base in the Spanish
capital.
Across town, her brother's representatives are close to agreeing a new five-year deal at Real
Madrid, including an annual salary of €17m after tax.
As revealed by Goal in June, this deal will be a world-record pay deal for a footballer, eclipsing the
previous highest for a five-year contract awarded by Barcelona to Lionel Messi.
Ronaldo, who has been photographed with J-Lo in New York this week, said on Monday that he
was hoping to make an annoucement soon about the deal.
Commenting about his sister's burgeoning musical career earlier this summer, Ronaldo said: "I'm
very happy for her."
Aveiro is expected to perform a live concert in September in Madrid with her album due for release
in November. She said:"This is the start of my international career!"
