Nigeria’s leading Noodles brand, Indomie Instant Noodles from the stables of Dufil Prima
Foods Plc, has once again added to its long list of laurels, by emerging as the coolest
noodles brand in the country at the maiden edition of the BusinessDay Generation Next
Survey Launch awards held in Lagos recently.
Indomie noodles earned the award based on constant innovations and unwavering
quality, a feat that has ensured a firm significant 60 percent control of the country’s
noodles market, which has also consistently placed it on top, as the most preferred brand
for all.
The award which was organized by BusinessDay in collaboration with HDI Youth
Marketeers Nigeria, a youth marketing company with a specialized focus on connecting
brands to their target audience within the youth segment, was aimed at recognizing and
awarding the top 50 leading brands in the country across various sectors.
While giving an insight into the parameter
that saw Indomie clinch the award, a
representative of HDI Youth Marketeers, said
the company’s emergence was based on a
survey that was conducted among 15,000
youths to find out their preferred brands in
various sectors and categories, since they
make up for over 60% consumer share of
locally made products and foreign products in
Nigeria.
Also speaking during the award presentation, the Editor in Chief of BusinessDay
Newspaper, Professor Onwachekwa Jemie, further explained that the rationale behind the
event is to distinguish and reward the leading brands in the country at the same time
encourage upcoming brands, to aspire to reach a level where they would be recognized
and celebrated as well.
Receiving the award on behalf of Indomie, the Public Relations Manager, Dufil Prima
Foods Plc, Mr. Tope Ashiwaju thanked the organizers of the event. “I am indeed grateful
to the organizers of this event for seeing us as worthy of this award. I would also like to
use this opportunity to tell our consumers that this feat would do well to spur us on as
we would not relent in our efforts in ensuring that Indomie maintains its unequalled
standard, in terms of quality, product delivery and magnanimity when it comes to CSR”.
The event which was well attended by major brands in the Food, Carbonated soft drinks,
Pasta, Telecommunication sectors was born in South Africa in 2004 to fill a gap in the
market.
