Luis Suarez's agent has told Arsenal a £40million bid will be enough to secure his signature.
The
Gunners' unsuccessful opening offer of £30million was spurned by
Liverpool last week for their controversial striker, currently midway
through serving a 10-match ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav
Ivanovic, as he continues to look for a move away from Anfield.
Arsene
Wenger is thought to be planning a renewed offer and the Uruguayan's
agent Pere Guardiola, the brother of Bayern Munich manager Pep, has
reportedly told the Arsenal boss that a fee in the region of £40million
will force the Reds' hand over the 26-year-old.
Liverpool,
however, are under no obligation to sell Suarez, whose options remain
limited as his preferred destination of Real Madrid continues to prove
elusive with the Spanish giants refusing to make an approach, even if a
bid matching his valuation would be reached.
