There was a mild drama, yesterday, in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital following
the arrest of a pastor (names withheld) with a Pentecoastal Church in the city by police for
alleged armed robbery.
Vanguard gathered that the clergyman was apprehended, weekend, alongside three other
suspects who were subsequently detained at the Ibara Police Station in Abeokuta.
It was further learnt that, the gang allegedly robbed a house in the town successfully,
but luck
ran on them when one of them was arrested which led to the arrest of others including the
pastor.
When the news of the arrest of the pastor filtered in to the town, some members of the church
besieged the Ibara Police Station protesting that it was a mix-up, insisting that their spiritual
leader was not involved in such criminal activity
