Nigerian Footballer, Rabiu Ibrahim Collapsed On The Pitch, Rushed To Hospital

The Kilmarnock FC midfielder collapsed after a collision with Ross County’s Ivan Sproule
in the 35th minute, and was subsequently stretchered off the pitch and rushed to a
nearby hospital.

Shocker: Couple sell daughter for iPhone

A young Chinese couple are facing criminal punishment for “selling” their infant daughter
and using the proceeds to buy an Apple iPhone, state media said Friday.
Shanghai prosecutors have brought a case against them for human trafficking after they
illegally put their third child up for adoption online and accepted money for the baby, the
Liberation Daily reported.
Investigators found the mother, whose full name was not given, used the money to buy
an iPhone, high-end sports shoes and other goods, it said.
Apple’s products are wildly popular in China, where a teenager sold his kidney and used
the funds to buy an iPhone and iPad in an incident widely reported last year.
But the couple told police that they wanted the girl to have a better upbringing than they
could afford, since they already had two children.
“Giving away the child was not for obtaining benefits, but giving the child better
guarantees,” one said.
Some Chinese, especially in rural areas, have a traditional preference for sons though
reports did not say if the child’s gender was also a factor in the case.
Online commentary condemned the couple, though some used black humour to describe
modern Chinese society and the quest for wealth.
“So cold-blooded! These people do not deserve the right to be parents!” said
Wangzhan1969 in a microblog posting.
“This is good business — no capital, huge profit and no need to sell kidneys,” said
another posting.
An official of the prosecutor’s office handling the case expressed worry over
“sensationalism” surrounding the affair but declined to comment further to AFP.
Shanghai police could not be reached for comment.
Reports did not give the amount the couple received for the child, but their online
postings asked for 30,000 yuan and 50,000 yuan ($4,900 and $8,200).
Apple last month launched the iPhone 5s, including a gold-coloured model, and the more
budget-conscious iPhone 5c in China.

'Boxes' of body parts found at Kenya mall

Charred pieces of bodies, enough to fill two boxes, have been recovered from the Kenyan shopping mall that was stormed by terrorists last month.

The remains, along with four AK-47 rifles believed to have been used by the attackers, were found in part of the mall that collapsed during the siege in Nairobi on September 21.

A security official said it was possible the remains are of the attackers but it would not be definitively known until tests were carried out.

One of the four gunmen has been identified by a real name for the first time: Abdi Dhuhulow, a Norwegian-Somali according to the security official.

Norwegian tax records show a Hassan Abdi Dhuhulow was born in 1990 and was registered at an address in Larvik, southern Norway, as late as 2009.

One man living in another Scandinavian country, who only gave his first name, Yussuf, told AP he believes he had met the gunman at a gathering of Somali immigrants in Oslo, Norway's capital, in 2008.

Yussuf recalled the man's name as Abdi and said he was associated with "pretty radical" circles in Norway.

"He was mad. He didn't feel at home in Norway."

Yussuf said he had not had any contact with the man since then but added that several people he knew thought they had recognised him in the closed-circuit TV footage of the mall attack.

Newly released security video shows that gunmen entered the mall and casually opened fire on shoppers, the beginning of a four-day siege that left 67 dead.

The Somali Islamic militant group al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it was in retaliation for Kenya sending troops into Somalia to go after the group.

Lagos State Police Command, yesterday, paraded a 40-year-old man, Adeyemi
Stephen Akintolure, a suspected fake medical doctor, who claimed to be a staff of Lagos
University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, with card No. 13541, identifying him as a surgeon and
gynaecologist.
The fake medical doctor was also said to have fraudulently obtained N500,000 from one Joy
Umosekhaimhe of 2, Adesanya Close, Ifeko-Gbagada.
Akintolure, who said he uses the wife’s car as a mobile clinic, said the money in question was
borrowed from Umosekhaimhe, adding “actually, it was not N500,000. It was N260,000 she lent
me to use for my brother’s ailment.”

He said he is from Ondo State, studied Marketing at ObafemiAwolowoUniversity, Ife, as a part-
time student and graduated in 1997.
According to Akintolure, “I have not treated more than 10 people. I just treat them for malaria
and typhoid and I also give injections too because of my experience at Rivic Hospital at Akure.”
When asked how he got the identity card, he said he got it from a business centre and that the
computer operator signed it for him.
He said that he charges between N3,000 and N4,000 per patient, adding that his wife was not
aware of his trade.
Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ngozi Braide, said she
received a petition at the area H Police Command Headquarters, Ogudu, on July 19, that one
Adeyemi Stephen Akintolure obtained N500,000 from one Joy Umosekhaimhe.
Braide said that a letter was written to LUTH on July 23 to authenticate Akintolure claims of
being a staff.
She said: “On October 10, LUTH replied that the suspect is not an employee of the hospital and
was not issued the identity card.
“In view of the revelation, the suspect confessed that he is not a medical doctor, but has been
practising for about four years, using his wife’s vehicle as a mobile clinic.”
She said his house and vehicle were searched and drugs, injections, syringes and laboratory
coat were recovered.

DO you Agree: 7 Things Women Usually Lie About »

Men
should just realize that a woman can never have too
many pairs of wedge heels and not place her in the
position of lying.
1. THEIR WEIGHT: One of the things women commonly lie
about is their weight. This is probably the thing they
most commonly lie about. Even the most honest woman
may be shaving five pounds off of her weight when she
is asked about it. No woman wants to appear as a large
woman. She wants to be seen as petite and delicate.
2. THEIR AGE: Ageing is difficult, especially for women.
As men age, they become more distinguished. As women
age, well, we just feel like we become old. And that
reality is hard to swallow for some of us so we lie about
it. It doesn't make us any younger to lie about our age
but it might make us feel a little younger and that is a
temptation that many cannot resist.
3. THEIR COOKING: None of us can deny the fact that we live in a very fast paced world. We
don’t have time to cook the things we would like to cook as long as we would like to cook
them. Many, many women have attempted to pass off a store bought goody as one they
prepared themselves. Even if they don’t say it in as many words, they may attempt to give that
impression by placing the food item in a personal dish. At the very least, they won’t reveal
their secrets.
4. THEIR SHOPPING HABITSMany women also lie about their shopping habits. But really, that
should be understandable. Men should just realize that a woman can never have too many
pairs of wedge heels and not place her in the position of lying. Wouldn’t you agree, ladies?
Many women lie about their shopping habits to keep an argument down.
5. THE MONEY THEY SPEND: Going hand in hand with lying about their shopping habits is the
fact that many women lie about how much money they spend. They may not totally lie but just
stretch the truth a little on this subject. They may spend it on having their hair or nails done,
shopping, lunch with a friend or just little inconsequential things. But the temptation to lie
about how much money they spend, especially if they are married, can be quite high. A little
white lie seems much better than an ugly argument.
6. THEIR MARRIAGE: Many women choose to present a prettier picture than there really is of
their marriage. I actually don’t believe that this is totally a bad thing. While I do believe lying
outright is very wrong, I believe painting your spouse in the best light is the best thing to do
for yourself, for them and your marriage. When you choose to talk positively about your
spouse, everybody wins. You feel better about them, they feel better about you and your
marriage benefits.
7. THEIR LIFE: Many women don’t want to admit dissatisfaction with their lives, even to
themselves. And while putting on a brave face is a noble thing to do, it isn’t always the best
thing to do. If you are struggling with things in your life, go to a friend or a trusted counselor
or religious leader for counsel. We all have hard times and we should help each other through
them. It is much better to talk about how wonderful your life is when it really is.

WOW! 8 months pregnant Rebekkah leads team to WNBA championship

The Minnesota Lynx swept the Atlanta Dream Thursday night to clinch their second WNBA championship in three years, led by several dominant performances from 31-year-old, eight-months pregnant Rebekkah Brunson. Brunson, a 6-foot, 2-inch tall, 215-pound power forward who recently entered her third trimester, averaged 26 points and 14 rebounds in the series and was by all accounts the Lynx’s biggest threat on both ends of the floor. “Rebekkah was really the difference-maker, there’s no question about that,” said Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve, adding that Brunson’s low-post game has drastically improved since putting on 40 pounds over the past
